We can carry out Hybrid and Electric vehicle servicing and repairs and are fully qualified to undertake this work.

 

Due to the nature of Hybrid and Electric vehicles, it is advised that only qualified EV mechanics should carry out work on these vehicles.

 

We are members of HEVRA, the Hybrid & Electric Vehicle Repair Alliance.  This means we meet HEVRA standards for staff training and equipment and have access to detailed vehicle-specific repair information and technical support if needed.  (www.hevra.co.uk)

 

 

There are three types of Electric Vehicles:

Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs):

​

These are powered by an electric high voltage battery with no conventional engine parts.

 

Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEVs):

​

This type of electric vehicle combines an internal combustion engine with a high voltage battery and switches automatically between the two power sources.  The hybrid battery is charged by the engine and also by regenerative braking.

 

Plug-in Electric Vehicles (PHEVs):

These are similar to a Hybrid but with a larger high voltage battery and an electric motor and also can be charged via a plug-in cable to an electric power source.
